Listening to Sound and Creating Sound

Last Spring, I took an African drumming class. I do not claim to have much rhythm at all, so learning to critically listen to both the drumming teacher and the other drummers was a very difficult feat for me. Creating the sounds necessary to perform was even harder! Yet, I made it through the class and through our concert. Here is one of the songs we performed:

I am really truly inspired by Barack Obama. I first heard him speak at the University of Maryland before the 2006 Senate election, and I got shivers then. I feel even more inspired now.
